High Class Escort for the Fête des Lumières in Lyon
In short

High class escort Lyon for the Fête des Lumières, 5–8 December: elegant companions, the best hotels near Fourvière and how booking works.

For four nights every December, Lyon switches off its ordinary lights and turns into one large open-air gallery. A high class escort Lyon clients book for the Fête des Lumières is usually part of a short winter break: a palace room, a walk through the illuminated old town, a long dinner and a city that feels like a stage set. In 2026 the festival runs from Saturday 5 to Tuesday 8 December. The programme and the map of the installations appear on the official Fête des Lumières website a few weeks before the festival.

This guide explains what the festival is, why so many of our clients like to share it with a companion, where to stay and dine near the light installations, and how booking works at One Kind.

01What the Fête des Lumières Is

The festival goes back to 8 December 1852, when the people of Lyon placed candles in their windows to celebrate a new statue of the Virgin on the hill of Fourvière. The candles, the lumignons, are still part of the tradition, and many Lyonnais put them on their windowsills on the evening of 8 December.

Around that tradition the city has built one of the largest light festivals in Europe. Artists project onto the cathedral of Saint-Jean, the basilica of Fourvière, the Place des Terreaux and the facades along the Saône, and parks and courtyards become installations of their own. Well over a million visitors come over the four nights, so the centre is lively and crowded from early evening until late.

02Why Clients Book a Companion for the Festival

The Fête des Lumières is made for two. It is cold, it is beautiful, and it is much more enjoyable with someone on your arm than alone in a hotel bar. Many of our clients come to Lyon for business, the city is a major centre for industry, health and finance, and stay on for a festival evening. Others travel especially, often from Paris, Geneva or Switzerland, for a romantic winter weekend.

What they ask for is simple: a companion who is elegant at dinner, curious about the installations and relaxed in a crowd, and who knows when to suggest going back to the warmth of the hotel. Our ladies speak several languages, dress for the occasion and are used to evenings that change plan. If you prefer to skip the busiest squares, a quieter walk along the Saône and an early dinner with a view is just as memorable.

03Where to Stay: Hotels Near the Installations

Book your room first, because the good hotels fill weeks before the festival. All our dates take place in 4- or 5-star hotels or a comparable private residence.

  • Villa Florentine – FourvièreA former convent on the hill above Vieux Lyon, with terraces looking over the whole city, the most romantic view of the lights.
  • Cour des Loges – Vieux LyonRenaissance houses around a glass-roofed courtyard, right in the old town where many installations are.
  • InterContinental Lyon Hotel Dieu – Presqu’îleSet in the monumental Grand Hôtel-Dieu on the Rhône, central and a short walk from Bellecour.
  • Villa Maïa – FourvièreA contemporary 5-star with gardens and a spa, quiet and very private after a busy evening.
  • Sofitel Lyon Bellecour – Presqu’îleA reliable central address with a rooftop restaurant above the river.

04Restaurants for a Festival Dinner

Lyon is France’s great food city, and during the festival the best tables are reserved early. We suggest booking dinner either before the lights come on or late, when the crowds thin out.

  • Paul Bocuse – Collonges-au-Mont-d’OrThe legendary Auberge du Pont de Collonges, a short drive north of the centre and far from the crowds.
  • La Mère Brazier – 1st arrondissementA Michelin-starred institution where Lyonnais tradition meets modern finesse.
  • Les Terrasses de Lyon – Villa FlorentineGastronomic dining with one of the loveliest views in the city, best when the lights are on below.
  • Le Dôme – InterContinental LyonChampagne under a 32-metre dome, a striking place to begin or end the evening.

05Practical Tips for the Four Nights

The centre is busy from about six in the evening, cars are of little use and some streets work in one direction only for pedestrians. Choose a hotel within walking distance of the installations, wear warm shoes and plan your route around one or two sites rather than trying to see everything. Saturday is the busiest night; Monday and Tuesday are calmer, and 8 December itself is the most traditional evening, when the windows glow with candles.

By TGV, Paris is around two hours away, and Lyon-Saint-Exupéry airport (LYS) is about 30 to 45 minutes from the centre. We plan your companion’s arrival with enough margin for the festival traffic. The city’s tourist office, ONLYLYON Tourism, publishes the pedestrian routes and transport changes for the four nights.

06How Booking Works at One Kind

Choose your companion on our escorts page or read our Lyon city guide for more hotels and ideas. Then send us your dates, your hotel and a few words about yourself and how you imagine the evening through the booking page.

Ladies based in France can be booked in Lyon from four hours, companions travelling from elsewhere in Europe from six hours. Your date is confirmed once we have received the security deposit (at least 40%). Until then we cannot confirm the date to the lady, and she cannot reserve her time for you. Once it has arrived, we confirm your booking to her, she keeps the time exclusively for you and any travel is booked. Our rates are the same in every city, and the travel expenses are shown in each profile. If you would like her to stay for the whole weekend, our travel escort guide explains how longer bookings work.
